Q: How to install ETranslate?
A: You can download ETranslate from the Mac App Store. After installation, the app will automatically start a 3-day free trial when launched for the first time.
Q: How to set up hotkeys?
A: Open ETranslate, go to "Preferences" > "Hotkeys", you can customize the hotkey combination for screenshot translation.
Q: What permissions does the app need?
A: ETranslate needs screen recording permission for screenshot translation and network permission to access translation services. We do not collect your personal data.

Feature Usage

Q: How to use the screenshot translation feature?
A: Press the set hotkey (default Cmd+Shift+T), select the area to translate, and the app will automatically recognize text and translate it.
Q: What languages are supported?
A: We support 20+ languages, including Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Spanish and other mainstream languages.
Q: What's the difference between AI translation and regular translation?
A: AI translation uses advanced models like ChatGPT and DeepSeek, providing more accurate and natural translation results, especially suitable for complex contexts.

Subscription & Payment

Q: How long is the free trial period?
A: New users get a 3-day full-feature free trial. During the trial period, you can experience all features without any restrictions.
Q: How to cancel subscription?
A: You can cancel your subscription in the Mac App Store's "Subscriptions" management, or through System Preferences > Apple ID > Media & Purchases.
Q: Can I get a refund after subscription?
A: According to App Store policy, you can apply for a refund within 48 hours of purchase. Please apply through the App Store's "Report a Problem" feature.

Troubleshooting

Q: What to do if the app won't start?
A: Please check if your system version meets the requirements (macOS 10.15+), restart the app, or try reinstalling. If the problem persists, please contact technical support.
Q: What to do if translation results are inaccurate?
A: You can try switching to different translation engines or use the AI translation feature. Make sure the selected text is clear and readable, avoid blurry or tilted text.
Q: What to do if hotkeys don't work?
A: Check if other apps are using the same hotkey combination, try changing the hotkey settings, or restart the app.
